Opinion

1.Yes I knew some people had been affected by air pollution. Let me give you an example, in Beijing China, air pollution has biggest negative impact on people's health. Then, most people take a mask when they go outdoor due to air pollution affecting our breath problem and nose and throat problem.

2.In my opinion, maybe everyone thinks people have freedom of choice to do anything except illegal things and one person can't make a different. But I think the cities should persuade people and give them some clearly suggestion to reduce pollution. Everyone should be not allowed to throw trash wherever, we should pick up trash by the way at anytime, use recycling substances, don't waste non renewable resources etc. 

3. There has been a hotly-debate issue that how to use a large piece of undeveloped land in my city. Some people agree that it should be sale for a lot money. The reasons for this is that some houses companies want to build houses and businesses on it. The large profit also would support the city to clean up the river, likewise now almost every family has a car, but it is very hard to park, therefore the land also might be created along parking. However, some people strongly disagree. For the following reasons, they want to sell it to an environmental group for less money. Because this group can plant more trees on and turn it into a nature preserve with hiking trails and camping areas. In my opinion, I agree that plant trees, not build houses. let me tell you why. Firstly environment pollution is biggest problem we need to face now, such as air pollution, water pollution and land pollution. That all more and more serious and have some negative impact on our health. In my experience, this is true because so many factories product many chemical substance such as wasted gas, that is a main SO2 resource and caused acid rain, it is very dangerous to environment, land and water. Furthermore, due to deforestation, the city often is attracted by wind and sand. Urban forest is good for define windy storm and purify the air. If we only want to earn a lot of money don't think about our environment problem, we will spend too much more money to deal with various environment pollution than how much we earn. In conclusion, without a doubt, planting tree is better than building houses on the large piece of undeveloped land in my city.

READING 1

Summary

In the article "From Student to Employee: A Difficult Transition", author Mina Alonso gives some suggestions to many recent graduates who are not ready for today's workplace challenges. Specifically, the author says that there are some causes lead to they have difficulty adapting to life on job. Firstly, it is hard for students to follow with the constant changes on experience in workplace comparing with the clarify experience in school. Then, Alonso explains what some different experience between school and workplace. Next, the author says many students also aren't ready for thinking analytically and this question due to school's methods of instruction. In addition, Alonso says that the school should spend less time on testing and spend more time developing students social skills and how to solve the problems. For these reasons, Alonso points out many students have difficulty to deal with problems independently and contribute to a team in workplace. In conclusion, the author tells students to do an internship, volunteer part time, government work to get enough experience; focus on socializing skills such as writing and speaking. in addition, the author also advises teachers to organize more team works in class to train students.

My parents have two children, one is my little brother and the other is me. My little brother and I are not very similar. He is tall, strong, his hair is curly and his eyes are small. I am short, slim and my eyes are big and bright. He is interested in math and driving a car for relay races, but I prefer English and sports. However, we both like traveling. As a result, once we have the same vacation, we always go traveling abroad together. This means we have a good common and get along well.

In the Unite 6, we talked about” should science influence what we eat?” This is a hot topic. It depends on consumer needs, interests and current nutrition trends. Some people challenge that question. Because some people think that we should eat well, less science and more common sense. For example: when we buy some food in supermarkets, we can get so much information about health and nutrition. No wonder we was confused. Furthermore, some food label mislead us and some genetically modified food is bad for our health. In contrast, some people believe science should influence what we eat. For instance, some people are interested in nutrition food that have specific health benefits. Low fat food, non-fat food, low calorie and low carbohydrate food all influence the consumer’s desires and needs.

I maintain that we should eat well, less science and more common sense. The first reason is that we all know what food is good for us, what isn’t except some special food that we don’t know and we haven’t tested. Therefore we can enjoy what we really want to eat, but we should control the amount carbohydrate and calorie if someone want to keep weight or lose weight. Secondly, it is hard to predict the changing nutrition food trends, because it is depend on society and culture, so it’s really hard to follow with. In short, I don’t need experts to tell me what to eat.

1/2 writing --2/2 rewriting

When I was 12 years old, I had to live with my grandparents because my parents were so busy that they couldn't take care of me very well. I couldn't imagine why did two consecutive generations  have such a big difference between their lives and personality? My grandpa used to be strict with me and say " You should go to bed early and don't eat fast food in school." Then I ignored whatever they told me. In addition, I didn't think a good family relationship was more important than any other relationships. However, I changed my mind due to one experience I had about my grandpa and I.

In my third year secondary school (age 15), I was in an ill temper and easy to angry with classmates, friends, and especially my grandparents. Consequently, many friends kept away from me. At home I had no efficient conversation with my grandparents, I only stayed in my room to watch TV, play computer games and chat online with strangers. Without a doubt, my family relationship got worse and worse! Although my grandparents were very sad, they still took good care of me. For instance, during meals they tried to chat with me in positive attitude, told me educated anecdotes and cooked various nutrition food for me. Furthermore, only my grandparents could endure my bad temper and impoliteness. But, I hadn't realized family members were so important until my grandpa suddenly died! He was seriously ill and didn't tell me which made me feel guilty. I know now that he worried about impacting on my studying and emotion.

Not only did I realized my issue but I tried to fix my mistakes so i can improve my relationship with my grandma. For example, chatting with her, walking in park, watching TV and helping her do housework. Equally important, I got good scores in my final test and went to the best high school thanks to my grandpa's eagerness to educate me daily. On the whole, a good family relationship is important to me now as I grow older, we should cherish family time as a result of life is short and sometimes is unpredictable. In short, I love my family.

re-write Linda diet report

LINDA DIET

I come from Northeast of China, in some ways, my diet is similar to others in my hometown. Fist of all, the 

people who lived in Northeast are easy to eat a large proportion of meat, fish and chicken and drink wine at 
every meal due to our special cool weather. However, it is the best for me to have variety food everyday. In 
addition, the most important thing is that I must restrict the number of calories and fat when I eat. Therefore it's 
necessary for me to keep healthy diet.  Here is my diet diagram in the past three days. In this report, I will 
describe three aspects of my diet and why I believe my diet is healthy.

Consume a lot 
  1. Fruits and vegetables. It is traditional for me to eat some fruits after every meal to stay healthy. Sometimes  I eat nothing in the dinner except fruits such as bananas, apples, pineapple, oranges, and grapefruits which have abundant of Vitamin. The next, I consume a lot of vegetables for lunch. But in America, I only can eat salad because of there isn't Chinese food such as fried dish. I think it is more healthy to eat cooked vegetable than salad.
  2. Dark coffee and green tea. Every morning I drink a cup of green tea when I weak up due to it has an impact on my skin and eyes health.Then after rich meal I like to drink dark coffee, because it is good for me to get in shape and control heart disease.
  3. Tuna sandwich. Actually, I substitute porridge for tuna sandwich. As a matter of fact I used to eat porridge and bread for my breakfast; in contrast I can't eat every morning in America because of  I have classes at 8:30 from Monday to Friday. As well as tuna fish is my favorite and I enjoy making sandwich.
Eat less
  1. Red meat. In my hometown, pork is the most popular meat for domestic dinners, we usually have barbecue and fired dishes. Another are pieces of beef and sheep when we have hot pot. Nonetheless, on Campus dinning hall there are no dishes like what I like to eat, this is why I eat less fried beef, not only is bad flavor but also has higher calories.
  2. Sweets. I prefer to eat a little sweets after meal as the sweets can make me relaxed and have a good emotion in the afternoon. Hence I have to restrict the portion, by the same token, it is the worst stuff for me to get in shape.
  3. Rice. In fact my favorite main food is rice and it is our traditional food.  My hometown rice, it is more delicious than any other countries and include low fat and some protein. For these reasons if I can't have my hometown rice, I abandon rice here.
Avoid
  1. Coke. Since I decided to lose my weight I didn't consume a lot of coke even ZERO FAT. Because there are a lager potion of surge, calories and fat. In fact zero fat coke also has high calories too. 
  2. Ice-cream. There are a lot of chemical ingredients as colorant and flavor in most ice-cream which is unreliable and unhealthy for me, so that I stop eating it. 
In the past three days I consume more fruits, vegetables and tuna sandwich which all contain good nutrition and Vitamin; less read meat, rice and sweets which include high calories and fat. The most important thing is I didn't consume coke and ice-cream to stay healthy and lose weight . As an illustration I believe that my diet is healthy.

LINDA DIET

However, it is the best for me to have variety food everyday. In addition, the most important thing is that I must restrict the number of calories and fat when I eat. So three aspects of my diet help me limit weight  although I am willing to eat larger portions of food.

Consume a lot 
1.Fruits and vegetables. It is traditional for me to eat some fruits after every meal, sometimes  I eat nothing in the dinner except fruits such as bananas, apples,
pineapple, oranges, and grapefruits which have abundant of Vitamin. The next, I consume a lot of vegetables for lunch. But in America, I only can eat salad because of there isn't Chinese food such as fried dish. I think it is more healthy to eat cooked vegetable than salad.

Everyday I consume more fruits, vegetables and tuna sandwich; less read meat, rice and sweets. The most important thing is I didn't consume Coke and ice-cream. Finally, I believe that my diet is healthy.
